Service Dog Training Program
& All Things Dog!

Training, Socializing, Rehabilitation, Rescues, Pets, & Service Dogs welcome!

Rescue

A registered 501c3 non-profit in the State of West Virginia, a breed-specific rescue - German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, & those intelligent mixes - primarily from shelters, Humane Societies, & other rescues. We try to use our resources to help find homes for other dogs in need of rescue.  Always keeping our eyes open for those potential service dogs just waiting for us.

Rehabilitation

Many of these newly rescued dogs need constant oversight & intervention to know how to exist happily in the human world at first. This is rehab for rescues! Our experienced Behaviorist, Francie, does this, 24/7 in her own home. This is the quintessential step before service dog training can begin. It allows our Behaviorist to gain a full understanding of the dog's strengths and weaknesses. Where it will likely thrive as a service dog; physically or is it more a scent dog... or if it will more likely be better off as a pet after all. This is not a job for the mentally or emotionally weak dog!

Obedience and Behavior

We also offer training for basic and advanced obedience as well as behavioral issues.  Our charge for the obedience training sessions is $35 per hour as these are one-on-one. An evaluation must be done before a charge can be discussed on behavioral issues, especially those which include resource guarding.

Puppy, adolescent, and young adult classes will be offered in Harrison County by our Behaviorist, Francie Floyd. Dogs must be up to date on all shots, not in season, and have no history of aggression towards dogs, children, people, or any other animals to be able to attend. Our social media pages will post when those classes become available.
We do not offer a board and train program for these basic services currently as our personal facilities are used for the training of service dogs. However, big things are on the horizon!
*A per-mile charge may be added if we come to you for training purposes.

Service Dogs

This is our bread and butter.  Our mission is to turn rescue dogs into service dogs for those in the deepest need. Service dogs cost anywhere between $20,000 and $50,000 today in the United States. Whereas our service dogs range from $2,500 to $15,000. This lower price is, in part, because we REQUIRE our clients to participate in the training process.

We currently train dogs for autism assistance, PTSD, other psychiatric disorders, diabetic alert, seizure alert & response, as well as brace & mobility work. Please feel free to contact us with any questions concerning pricing. Please call or email any questions or concerns about how a service dog can assist you or a loved one. While you may hear a bit of barking in the background, we will make time to speak with you.
*We do NOT train guide dogs to assist with the blind

Service Dog Training

Nearly on a daily basis, we are contacted about people wondering if we can train their own pets to be service dogs.
The answer is: maybe. But, we cannot tell you that on the phone.

Remember, NOT every dog CAN become a Service Dog.  However, we will gladly evaluate your dog. Then, should we believe he or she may have what it takes to become a service dog, we would be happy to assist with training. We are always brutally honest about our evaluations.

The cost of the evaluation is $200.
If we feel the dog can be trained as a service dog, our service dog training package is as follows:

Forty-five-day intensive training: $750

Fee per session beyond 45 days: $65

We have a service dog training contract that we will require you to read, then sign before we begin any training program.  Please contact us for further information to see who will do the evaluation & training with your dog!

Adoption

Sometimes, a dog simply doesn't have what it takes to become a service dog. This doesn't make it any less of a cute, furry, cuddle bug! They will make an excellent member of your family!! Let's face it, many of them are already trained, housebroken, and great on a leash!! We never accept unintelligent unruly furkids into our program!!
I mean, who WOULDN'T want a dog who failed out of a service dog program?? Right?
When this happens, we will post these dogs for adoption. We do have a separate adoption application.  Please note
home visits ARE REQUIRED and an adoption fee.
